Greetings Rodrigo,
Thank you for contacting the Battle.net Account Administration department about the map Nexus Word Wars.
The StarCraft II Inappropriate Content Policy can be found here http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?locale=en_US&articleId=33752.
It states, “StarCraft II affords the player the opportunity to create content such as user-made maps. With this freedom comes the potential for abuse. Any content found to be offensive in nature has no place on Battle.net. Such content can be changed or removed, and the publisher warned or suspended.”
These policies are put in place to protect our players, and we take violations of our policies extremely seriously. Nonetheless, Blizzard is a company of gamers. We play the games we make and many of us design custom maps. We understand the hard work that goes into making a map and the impact on the community when a popular map goes offline. We realize that each case is different, which is why we provide a webform for Account Penalty Inquiries at http://us.blizzard.com/support/webform.xml.
Based on the specific nature of the violations in this map, we have determined that in accordance with our policy, the offensive content must be changed or removed. After reviewing your appeal, we have decided to grant a degree of leniency in regards to the banning of Nexus Word Wars. We would like to provide an opportunity to restore a more appropriate version of the map with its original name once the offensive content is removed. Please bear in mind that future map violations for this map or any other may not be afforded this same opportunity. Additionally, if any future violations are reported and validated, your account may be penalized. For information on account penalties in StarCraft II, please see this page: http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?locale=en_US&tag=SC2penalties&rhtml=true.
To proceed with the reinstatement of this map, you will need to create a new version of the map that does not include any offensive language. We realize that the dictionary used in this game is imported from another source and that English is not your first language, however when publishing a map you are responsible for any and all content in that map. Before the map can be republished, you will need to review the dictionary thoroughly.
In particular, when reviewing the dictionary, you will want to pay close attention to words which may violate our Inappropriate, Obscene/Vulgar, Sexual Orientation, or Racial/Ethnic/National content policies, which can be found at http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?locale=en_US&tag=SC2icpolicies&rhtml=true.
We will not be providing a comprehensive list of words that need to be removed, however here are a few examples of words in the map that could result in map closure and action against your account:
Racial/Ethnic
[li]spick [/li][li]beaner[/li] Obscene/Vulgar
[li]fuck[/li][li]shitwork[/li][li]cocksucker[/li][li]bullshit[/li] Inappropriate
[li]anal[/li][li]porn[/li][li]arse[/li][li]jesus[/li][li]enema[/li][li]vulva[/li][li]whoremonger[/li][li]ejaculation[/li] Sexual Orientation
When you have edited the map to your satisfaction and are confident that there are no policy violations in the new version, you will be able to upload the new version of the map with the same name, Nexus Word Wars. When you do, players who have downloaded the original will be able to play on the new map, which should help you regain your previous popularity rating over time.
Thanks for understanding our position on this matter. It’s important to us to maintain a safe, friendly environment for all our players in StarCraft II by enforcing our policies. It’s also important to us that our players be able to enjoy the custom map feature and have their hard work and creativity recognized by the community. We look forward to seeing a version of Nexus Word Wars that advances both of these goals.
Regards,Acriglot |
